In the aftermath of the devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River on Bhadra 10, 2083 B.S., communities in the affected areas have been facing significant challenges, with urgent needs for rescue, relief, healthcare, education, and rehabilitation. Recognizing the need for collective action during such a difficult time, Garima Bikas Bank Limited and its employees have come together to support those affected by the disaster.
NPR 10.11 Million Committed to Relief and Rehabilitation
Garima Bikas Bank, together with its employees, has announced a total contribution of NPR 10,111,111.00 toward the rescue, relief, and rehabilitation of citizens affected by the Bhotekoshi flood. As an immediate contribution, the Bank and its employees have jointly provided NPR 5,111,111 to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
Of this amount:
a) NPR 1,620,550.00 has been contributed by Bank employees, equivalent to one day’s salary and allowances.
b) NPR 3,490,561.00 has been contributed directly by Garima Bikas Bank.
This contribution reflects the Bank’s commitment to standing alongside communities when they need support the most.
Beyond Immediate Relief
While immediate financial assistance is essential following a disaster, rebuilding affected communities requires sustained support. Recognizing this, Garima Bikas Bank has also committed an additional NPR 5,000,000.00 from its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Fund. The additional support will focus on programs related to education, healthcare, and community rehabilitation in affected areas. These initiatives will be carried out in coordination with local authorities to help ensure that assistance reaches communities where it is most needed.
A Collective Effort for Recovery
Disaster recovery is not the responsibility of a single institution. It requires collaboration among affected families, local communities, government agencies, security forces, non-governmental organizations, financial institutions, and other stakeholders. Garima Bikas Bank believes that coordinated efforts can make relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction more effective and meaningful. The Bank’s contribution is therefore intended not only as financial assistance but also as a demonstration of solidarity with the people and communities affected by the disaster.
Standing with Affected Communities
Garima Bikas Bank extends its heartfelt condolences to all those who lost their lives in this tragic natural disaster and expresses its deepest sympathy to their bereaved families. The Bank also wishes for the speedy recovery of those injured and affected and their safe rehabilitation. At a time when communities are facing uncertainty and hardship, collective compassion and responsible action can play an important role in rebuilding lives. Through its contribution and continued CSR commitment, Garima Bikas Bank aims to support the recovery journey and stand together with the affected communities as they work toward rebuilding a safer and more resilient future.
