The inauguration of the newly constructed Head Office of Garima Bikas Bank Limited, located at Baluwatar, Kathmandu Metropolitan City–3, was formally completed today, Wednesday, Bhadra 3, 2083. The Head Office, established in a building owned by the Bank, was inaugurated by the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Prof. Dr. Bishwanath Poudel, amid a special ceremony. With the inauguration, the Bank’s Head Office has been relocated from its previous location in Lazimpat, Kathmandu, to Baluwatar, Kathmandu.
Garima Bikas Bank commenced its formal financial operations on Kartik 18, 2064, from Waling, Syangja. On Baisakh 1, 2067, it relocated its Head Office to Mahendrapool, Kaski. Following its upgraded to a national-level development bank, the Bank moved its Head Office from Pokhara to Lazimpat, Kathmandu, on Chaitra 27, 2073.
On the occasion of the inauguration, religious ceremonies, including the Shiva Panchayan Pran Pratishtha, were also conducted at the temple constructed within the office premises. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Prof. Dr. Bishwanath Poudel, Securities Board Chairman Dr. Gopal Prasad Bhatt, officials from Nepal Rastra Bank and other regulatory bodies, members of the Bank’s Board of Directors, former officials of the Bank, senior management personnel, Chief Executive Officers and senior officials of various banks and financial institutions, shareholders, employees, customers, and other distinguished guests.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Madhav Prasad Upadhyay, stated that the journey that began in Waling, Syangja, in 2064, progressed through Pokhara, and reached Kathmandu in 2073 has now entered a new chapter with the commencement of operations from the Bank’s own Head Office building. He further highlighted that the trust of millions of customers, thousands of shareholders, regulatory authorities, and business partner organizations, together with the dedicated efforts and contributions of employees and strong institutional governance, has been instrumental in the Bank’s successful business journey.
Similarly, addressing the closing session of the inauguration ceremony, the Bank’s Chairman, Mr. Dilip Pratap Khand, expressed the Bank’s commitment to moving forward more strongly by providing customers with more convenient, efficient, and quality banking services while giving priority to institutional governance, technology, innovation, and sustainable development.
